Brand Kit
With Smore for Teams you can now create brand kits for your team to use to help streamline the communication being sent to your community and help increase brand recognition.
How to create a Brand Kit
Once in your Management Dashboard:
- Click on the tab Brand Kits
- Select Add a Brand Kit
- Upload your logos
Note: You are able to upload up to 4 logos for your team to use, as well as setting one of the logos as your default logo. To set a logo as default, remove a logo or edit it, hover over the logo and select the preferred option.
- Click the dropdown and select your theme
- Select your design
- Either upload custom backgrounds or select backgrounds from the supplied library. You can add up to 8 backgrounds. When using Custom Backgrounds, please make sure the image is our 1,500 x 1,500 px dimension size. For further details about our Custom Backgrounds, please click here.
- Select your colors. You can add up to 4 color options.
- Pick your fonts. You can choose up to 2 font options.
- Create your Kit Button. This button will help your team member identify the chosen Brand Kit to be used when creating their team newsletter.
- Pick a name for the Brand Kit. Eg Smoreville Elementary’s branded template
- Pick a thumbnail color. This will be the background color of the Brand Kit’s button in the Editor.
This is how your Kit Button will be viewed from the Editor for your team members:
- Once you have created the Brand Kit click Save Brand Kit
Note: You can preview the kit before saving by clicking Preview.
How to edit and delete a Brand Kit
Once in your Management Dashboard:
- Click on the tab Design Kit
- Hover over the Brand Kit you want to edit or delete
- Select either edit or delete
Note: If you select edit, you will return to the Create your Brand Kit page of the selected brand kit.
Note: If you click delete you will be brought to a message, asking you to confirm that you want to delete the brand kit and then click Delete again.
Commonly Asked Questions:
How many Brand Kits can I create for my team? You can create up to 15 brand kits for your team.
How will my team access the Brand Kits? When a team member begins creating a newsletter, they will be able to select brand kits in the theme drop-down menu. Read more about choosing a theme HERE.
How many logo options can I add to each Brand Kit? You can upload up to 4 logos to each brand kit. When in the editor, if your members select a brand kit as their theme option, they will be able to choose from any of the uploaded logos.
Do I have to add a logo to a Brand Kit? No you do not have to add a logo to a brand kit. If you do not, your team can upload a logo of their choice.
What does it mean if a logo is set as default? This means that when a user selects the Brand Kit, the default logo will appear. However, they can choose any of the logos you have uploaded to that Brand Kit.
How many backgrounds can I add to a Brand Kit? You can add up to 8 backgrounds to a Brand Kit. This 8 includes either custom backgrounds you upload or backgrounds you select from our background library.
How does my team select the background? When in the Editor, members can click “Background” and all of the background options you have chosen for that Brand Kit will be shown.
How many colors can I add to a Brand Kit? You can add up to 4 colors to each Brand Kit.
Can I upload my own custom colors? At this time, it's not possible to upload custom colors, as we aim to keep the Brand Kit consistent for all members. That said, all currently available colors are accessible, as we understand how important that is. We also recognize that custom colors matter to some schools and districts, and may consider adding this option in the future.
How many fonts can I upload? You can add up to 2 fonts to each Brand Kit.
Will the name of the template be visible on the newsletter? No, the name of the template will not be viewable on the newsletter itself.
